PAINT THE TOWN: YSL Beauté will host a pop-up, immersive experience near Paris’ Place de la République next week to help celebrate the launch of its new lip collection, YSL Loveshine. The collection includes Candy Glaze gloss in stick form and Wet Shine lipstick.
Guests will be met in the entry by a large, suspended heart-shaped artwork nodding to YSL’s iconic symbol. One room will have what’s dubbed an “infinity mirror box,” allowing people to see their images on repeat and also juxtaposed with the lip products’ textures and shades appearing on screens.
Elsewhere, robots making choreographed moves will showcase the lipsticks. A third room will have an olfactory bar, and nearby there will be games gallery, including a claw machine and chess, in the lipstick colors. There will also be a “candy shop” with gumball-like machines and temporary tattoos, among other entertainment.
Six makeup artists will give flash color cosmetics experiences, allowing people to try out the lip products.
There will be a digital component, too. Visitors can scan a QR code found in front of the pop-up’s facade in order to use Google Geospatial technology, which allows for an augmented reality experience at the exact address — 27 Boulevard Jules Ferry.
YSL Loveshine will be open, free to visitors, from 3:30 to 7 pm on March 26 and from 12:30 to 7 pm on March 27.
For those who can’t be there in person next week, they’ll be able to try on products on their lips still virtually, thanks to a new Snapchat Lens YSL Beauté is offering. The beauty brand is licensed to L’Oréal.
