Julia Roberts, like the rest of us, has done some things that she regrets in the past.
In a recent interview with People, the actress opened up about the beauty mistakes she’s made, and what she wished she’d known. When asked about the one piece of beauty advice she’d give to her younger self, the Pretty Woman star has an answer at the ready.
Julia admitted that she’d tell her 19-year-old self to “stand up straighter” and “don’t pluck your eyebrows.” This revelation came a week after the actress posted a nostalgic birthday tribute to her twins Phinnaeus and Hazel, who turned 19 last month. In the pic, a younger Julia is holding her baby, with her hair tied back, and seemingly perfectly shaped eyebrows.
Of course, Julia isn’t the only A-Lister who’s regretted plucking her eyebrows a little too thin over the years—Victoria Beckham recently admitted on TikTok that she’s self-conscious of her over-plucked eyebrows, and even hides them from her hubby, David Beckham.
Despite regretting her eyebrow decisions, this mom of three’s skin has always looked glowy and flawless. So, don’t be afraid to take some skincare and beauty advice from her! A while back, Julia told WH that her beauty routine is pretty low maintenance. On “normal days,” she brushes her teeth, washes her face, and applies sunscreen. That said, she is a firm believer in taking off her makeup before bed, and uses her long time favorite Bi-Facil Double-Action Eye Makeup Remover.
She’s also very focused on keeping her skin hydrated. “My hands get very dry from washing a lot of dishes“ she said. One of her faves? Absolute Hand. “Its like butter—so hydrating and restorative” she previously told HollywoodLife.
BTW, for those of you still recovering from the harsh trend of the 90s and early 2000s, WH can answer all your questions about how you can achieve fuller brows with makeup.
While it might seem intimidating, creating thicker brows involves using a light hand and making small strokes with your eyebrow pencil of choice. It’s easy to overdo it, so make sure you’re filling in the sparse parts of your brows lightly. Brush your brow hair upward with a brush and voila, you’re set!
